So what's it been like a million years since I posted? Oh actually just 9 days? Never mind...
It feels like it's been longer then that, but that's probably just because we've been so busy! So this post is mostly just going to be a "we went there and did this" type of post just so I can get it all out.
I am just finishing up my first full week as an official Domestic Goddess (or "housewife if you wanna be a dick about it) and its fabulous. really! Before when I was working, I never thought I would like staying at home and keeping it in order (well kind of), but I do. Granted there have been a few moments when the Bean has been this close to being shipped out, but I dig it.
Last week I went with my sister and mom and the kiddos to the Louisville Zoo. The weather was FABULOUS and Bean behaved pretty well. (lilli bug slept the whole time). Friday night I took Bean to see Shrek 3, and it was a riot. I couldn't tell who was more excited. Now he tells everyone that he went to a movie "teater" to see Shrek.
Yesterday the back yard felt my wrath as I got the weedeater out and did some damage. but in a good way you know.
The chillens are stirring from their naps and I promised them a trip to the park when bean got up so...
Mother's Day was pretty good around here. After going to the gym on Sunday morning, Adam brought us back breakfast and then went with us to church. I got a lovely bucket full of gardening tools. We went to his Moms house for lunch and then met mine at Polly's for ice cream.
This was the best part of the day though.
when you get me, you get all of me, my craziness, my loudness, my softness and intolerance to cruelty. My ability to cry at the drop of a hat, my inability to say no.
you get a friend through all times. You get my pettiness, my cattiness, my giggles.
I'm a complex package, but I'll always try to make it worth your while. I'll never do anything to intentionally hurt you whether it's name-calling or neglect. If you hurt me, I'll suffer more then you'll ever know.
As many of you know, I have been involved, heavily, in the upcoming primary for our city government which will be held on May 8th.
Last night, the S Ellen Jones Neighborhood Assoc and the East Spring Street Neighborhood Assoc sponsored a debate among the three candidates for city council in the 3rd district.
I was unable to attend the entire debate as Knitting for a Need was last night as well, fortunately another concerned and proactive citizen in our community was there to tape the event. Let's just say it was a good thing I left early, I would hate to have been escorted out. Citizens of the third district hear this. I have nothing personal against Steve Price, he's always been polite to me, and he's an extremely talented musician, I applaud anyone who takes the step to serve in public office. However, he is not the right person to represent the third district. Not only is he just plain ignorant on SEVERAL topics, but he doesn't care to get more information. He says he wants the town to go back to being Mayberry. NO. New Albany never was Mayberry, ask any NA history buff and they'll be able to tell you that New Albany has always been progressive and on the cutting edge. You can have the small town feel of knowing your neighbors and feeling safe, but that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice on other things.
Please watch the following video and take to heart what's really being represented here. This is not to point out when he misspeaks, there is so much more then that. (There will be more videos posted as they are passed along to me)
