My new fave polish, Crown Me, Already

I love, love, love this polish. I can't even begin to express how much I love it. It takes all my willpower to not put it on every single day.

It's a beautiful silver glitter with small glitter and then bigger chunky glitter. It's meant to be the layering polish in the Miss Universe 2011 collection, from OPI, but I apply 3 layers and it stands on it's own, with just a few bald spots.

so amazing.

My Face. Thursday, September 8, 2011

Today was another chilly day. I opted for a plain black long sleeve shirt so I could play with the eyeshadow in a darker color.

I used Ochre Paint Pot as a primer all over my lid. Then pressed MAC Circa Plum Pigment on the bottom half of the lid, MAC Shadowy Lady in the crease, and then under my brow as a highlighter, MAC Lightfall. Brows are once again Haute and Naughty Mascara.

What did you wear today?

My Face. Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Today was the first sweater day of fall!!! I wore a cute Hana Andersson sweater with lots of colors. I played off the greens and yellows in the sweater since it was gloomy outside.

I used MAC nc20 foundation, stippled application and the eye shadow is from the Mac double features 1 and 2. (love these) and Mac Haute and Naughty mascara.

My Face

I've never really done the makeup thing before. Sure I always liked to buy it, but I never really wore it. I think a lot of it was because I never really learned how to wear it. My mom wasn't a big makeup wearer. Thanks to the interwebz and youtube, I've learned so much over the last few months.

So I'll start posting some makeup stuff here along with the nail stuff. I'm no expert by any means, but I figured, most of us aren't. Feel free to post your makeup and nail tips, tricks and info and we'll be fabulous together!

Gradient Nails

This was my first manicure with gradient nails. I used the sponge technique. I liked that it was subtle and not as outrageous as some of my other manis!

Happy Birthday Monkey

I don't know about you guys, but I am having a hell of a hard time believing that my ConnerMonkey is 7 today. He's now closer to being a teenager than not. I'm telling you, my mind can't process this!

Holy Flip. So I went and saw the NKOTBSB concert this past Wednesday with some girlfriends and while I was at first a little bit embarrassed to tell people i was going, it turned out to be one of the best shows I've ever seen. I guess I was embarassed because these guys are now in their 40's and who the hell knows how they're going to bust it out nowadays. But wow, they sure as hell did. I mean, they look so damn good.

My friend Jessica and I ended up getting tickets to go see them Tuesday in Indianapolis. Now fingers crossed that I can get my camera in and get some great shots!
Here's a photo of my friend Krista and I pre-show!

NOTD: Put a Bird On It

Here we go! Are you guys excited for the first of many upcoming nail polish posts? Woohoo, I know I am.

Anyway, the first one I'm going to show you is my mani for church this past Sunday. It was inspired by the hilarious short from Portlandia, Put A Bird On It.

I use Sally Hansen Double Time basecoat, a wet n wild pink (can't remember the name) and of course, the amaaaaahzing Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat. The little birds I got from Sally Beauty Supply.

Pup Update

We're still fostering for the LWR. The last pup we had, Ransom, was a handsome sweetie and was adopted by my good friend. I am digging this because I've been getting regular photos and updates via facebook. We're currently in our nice 2 week hiatus and I'll update when we get our next one!

This evening, there was a storm blowing in so it acutally wasn't freaking miserable to be outside. All 6 of us were messing around in the front yard when I snatched up my camera for some pictures of the dogs. (after Gandee died, I realized how few photos of him I had and I don't want that to happen again).

Newman is a total camera ham, but Gracee won't ever have any part of it (she gets that from her dad)

new shift?

So I kinda got the heebies while posting all the goings on with my kiddos since there were people who I knew read my blog that were flat out evil. I pretty much don't want them anywhere near me or even looking at photos of me or my kids so I kind of spaced out for a while. (ASshats).

I'm still doing photography and loving it. I ended up getting all wrapped up in this crazy fascination with nail polish and nail art and have found tons of resources out there. My gosh! People are crazay talented. So I'll be doing a lot of nail polish talk with a shot of the kids thrown in every once in a while.

If you're still out there and reading leave me a comment and let me know!

I got nothing. We've just been crazy busy and a lot of stuff is up in the air right now. Nothing bad, just not stuff I really want to talk about until it's confirmed.

I will tell you that we're fostering weims for the Louisville Weimaraner rescue, so you should come check out the blog for that!
